After I heard two of my seven horses cough, I started watering down their hay. This year’s hay crop, 1,200 bales, is very dusty, thanks to the gophers who live in my hay field. I have water available behind the barn for two pastures, and on the east side for two more horses. One very long hose takes care of the three in the front pasture. Hopefully I caught it quick enough before any respiratory problems develop.
